Okay, so something important about this game is that the visual parts you install on your car does affect how it drives. Below Is a list of all the visual parts you can install on your car, and an explanation of what they do to your car. This list does not include paint. Paint does not affect your cars driving.
Body Kits (front and rear bumpers, and side skirts)- The bigger body kit you select the heavier it makes your car. If you have no body kits, it makes your car harder to handle (spins out). I suggest a level one body kit (the first ones you get in career mode).
Spoilers- Spoilers offer you downforce, which you dont always need. Another thing it does is it creates drag. If you have a car that spins out a lot, you should give it a bigger spoiler. If your car drives good without the rear downforce, install a level one spoiler
(one you unlock at begginging of career). I dont suggest having no spoiler because most cars
need some downforce or they will easily spin out.
Hoods- Hoods just look cool. Upgraded hoods weigh more because they are bigger. It is best to just have a stock hood because your car will be more streamlined, and it will be lighter weight. They dont really do anything to help your cars performance, like a spoiler, they just look cool.
Roof Scoops- Roof scoops are really bad. They dont improve performance like a spoiler and they dont look cool. All they do is create drag. They also weigh you down, but the fact they create drag is worse. Roof scoops do nothing but slow you down.
Headlights/Taillights- These just look cool. They dont really do anything to the performance on the car. Altough, if your car has pop-up headlights stock, you will want to upgrade these to something elce because they create drag.
Side Mirrors- These dont effect the weight of the car. All they do is create drag. You want to get the most thin side mirrors because your car will be more streamlined. The most thin one is called 'Geronimo'.
Exaust tip- The size of the exaust tip doesnt matter. They dont weigh you down. Having an upgraded exaust tip is good in two ways: it looks cool, and it makes your car faster. The bigger the exaust tip, the faster it makes your car. The best two exaust tips are 'sonic' and 'rocket'.
Rims- Rims dont do anything to your performance (rim size does). You can get any kind of rims on your car (the type doesnt effect car) to make it look cool or whatever. But, you have to buy the smallest size rims. The Bigger the rim, the heavier it is. Also a bigger rim reduces the tire profile and makes your car handle worse. Small rims are the best, so get the smallest size.
Carbon Fiber- Carbon fiber just looks cool. For a real car, carbon fiber is lighter and keeps cool, so it makes a good hood or whatnot. In this game, however, carbon fiber for some reason is heavier. It slows you down because it makes your car heavier (it must be a programing error).
Wide Body Kits- Wide body kits are heavy. They will lower your acceleration because they are heavy. Although, they can help you. They make your car turn better because they increaase the overall downforce. It improves handling but decreaces acceleration.
Gauges- These do nothing to the performance of your car (as you might have already guessed).
Neon- These also do nothing to the performance of your car. Niether underglow nor engine neon effects the car. They just look cool. I didnt mention trunk neon because... well look at the trunk audio section and you'll see.
Window Tint- This doesnt do anything to the performance of your car. They just look cool.
Lights- This doesnt do anything to the performance of your car. The only thing it may do is if you have trouble seeing the road for some reason, brighter lights may help (odd scenario).
Nitro purge- As you might have guessed this does nothing too your car (in performance).
Hydros- These dont directly do anything to your car, but if you have your back hydro's up (and your front hydro's down) off the line of a race, it will improve off the line acceleration.
Trunk Audio- This is bad. It is really heavy and you should not put it in the back of a car unless it has a serious spinning out problem. Your trunk should be stock.
Spinners- I know spinners look cool, but they are really heavy. They will weight your car down a lot because the part of the rim thats spinning is on top of another rim. This means there really are 2 rims, and one of them is spinning. This means it is twice as heavy as normal rims.
Spit Hoods- These are even worse than normal hood upgrades. They are really heavy and really weigh down the front of your car. I strongly suggest sticking with stock hoods if you are trying to make a fast car.
Doors- Doors are like the coolist looking thing that ever happened on that game. However, they too are really heavy and really decrease the possible performance of your car. Its is really sad, but it is true.
